Product Function and Instructions for Use
White charcoal is obtained by heating it at a higher temperature than black charcoal. If you look closely at white charcoal made at temperatures up to 1000℃, you will see that it is white charcoal as the name suggests. This white color is due to the ash obtained at high temperatures. The ash color on the outside looks white, hence the name white charcoal. White charcoal becomes harder and stronger because it is heated at a high temperature. So, white charcoal is not as easy to burn as black charcoal, but once it is lit, it lasts longer.

Lighting Instructions – Binchotan Charcoal
- Prepare Your Grill or Fireplace:
Place the Binchotan charcoal pieces inside your grill, hibachi, or barbecue. Arrange them loosely to allow airflow between the pieces. - Ignite the Charcoal:
- Use a charcoal chimney starter or a long match/lighter to ignite the charcoal.
- Binchotan can be challenging to light due to its density, so patience is key. Avoid using lighter fluid or chemical fire starters as they can affect the flavor.
- Allow the Charcoal to Heat:
Let the charcoal burn for 20–30 minutes until the edges start glowing red and a thin layer of white ash forms. - Spread the Charcoal:
Once fully lit, spread the charcoal evenly for consistent heat distribution. - Start Cooking or Heating:
The Binchotan will provide a clean, steady, and high heat perfect for grilling or heating. Enjoy the long burn time with minimal smoke or odor.
